Solved error messages using windows games since a windows update

I have been getting error messages when starting checkers or spades.
sometimes the game starts and errors out before finished.
sample error code is 0x80041006

Have you updated your drivers recently?

My computer is set to check for updates. When I shut down sometimes it applies the updates it has found. If the drivers are not part of these updates then the answer is no.

Hi Rev,
That error codes been popping up for years.
Concesus of opinion is that the MS servers are overloaded, and with rollout of 10 it wont get any better.
