(Before i start, i have checked multiple threads on this site about my problem but none atm have seemed to work, im sorry if this topic arrises constantly but i have done a search but my problem still presists.)

Hi,

My problem has been going on roughly since i aquired the laptop but im sure that it isn't a hardware fault as it is both the ethernet and wireless adapter having problems.

My ethernet will disconnect usually once or twice a day usually an hour after the laptop has been turned on. After that it won't disconnect again.
The wireless internet will disconnect more often and it is random as to when it will happen.

The disconnection happens like this,
Unable to browse the web using any internet browser like firefox or internet explorer
Any online game i play kicks me from the server to a login screen (if the game has one)
However, the laptop still shows a stable connection to the ethernet/wireless. It will show the yellow triangle with an exclamation mark for a second then show a stabe connection.

Laptop Specs;

Windows 7 64-bit
AMD Athlon II Dual-core M320 2.1 GHz
4GB RAM
Wireless Adapter - Atheros AR9285
Ethernet Adapter - Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller

So far i have tried;

Updating all devices,
Uninstalled the devices and re-installed,
Unistalled Anti-virus software,
Disabled Firewalls,
Changing Channels on the router,
Update Router firmware,
Reseting the router.

Thanks for taking your time to read the above and thanks for any help that you can provide.

Sure. the text you posted is a list of errors your system has experienced. Each of these errors has a cause. The one I picked out is a driver. It is your display driver, a graphics card driver. Somehow this driver caused an error. The link I gave you was about this driver, what it does, the errors it can cause and how to correct those errors.

There are drivers for your sound card (sound adapter), video card (video adapter), network cards (LAN adapters), software programs, other installed hardware - a whole slew of drivers. That particular one was mentioned in the error report. Drivers are loaded into memory when you boot up and are necessary to run the hardware/software with which they are associated.

Notice than one of the errors the author of that article wrote about was caused by a conflict with an installed TV tuner. I have seen this result in a system crash and a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death). He also wrote about having current drivers installed as opposed to an obsolete version of that driver. Outdated drivers can definitely create problems. I have no way of knowing if either or both of these apply to you since I have no idea what is on your system and I do not know the dates of your drivers.

I hope I haven't confused you more; but given you a little understanding of what a driver is and what it does. Please ask any questions you have.

Aran,

WINDOWS 7 CONNECTIVITY/PERFORMANCE PROBLEMS AT PUBLIC HOTSPOT

The default Power Management settings for operation using battery and also for the Power Saver and the Balanced power plans could be your enemy.

To maximize the wireless performance for a power plan:
CONTROL PANEL | Power Options | radio button of the plan you want to change, ie, Power Saver, Balanced or High Performance |

To the right of the button you selected, click on Change Plan Settings |

At the lower left, click on Change advanced power settings |

Expand Wireless Adapter node | expand Power Saving Mode |

Click on the present On Battery: setting | set to Maximum Performance |
Click on the present Plugged in: setting | set to Maximum Performance |
OK button

Repeat this procedure for the other plans.

You will lose a little, but not much, battery life when on battery.

Choosing a network location

The first time that you connect to a network, you must choose a network location. This automatically sets the appropriate firewall and security settings for the type of network that you connect to. If you connect to networks in different locations (for example, a network at your home, at a local coffee shop, or at work), choosing a network location can help ensure that your computer is always set to an appropriate security level.
There are four network locations:

  • Choose Home network for home networks or when you know and trust the people and devices on the network. Computers on a home network can belong to a homegroup. Network discovery is turned on for home networks, which allows you to see other computers and devices on the network and allows other network users to see your computer. For more information, see What is network discovery?
  • Choose Work network for small office or other workplace networks. Network discovery, which allows you to see other computers and devices on a network and allows other network users to see your computer, is on by default, but you can't create or join a homegroup. For more information, see What is network discovery?
  • Choose Public network for networks in public places (such as coffee shops or airports). This location is designed to keep your computer from being visible to other computers around you and to help protect your computer from any malicious software from the Internet. HomeGroup is not available on public networks, and network discovery is turned off. You should also choose this option if you're connected directly to the Internet without using a router, or if you have a mobile broadband connection.
  • The Domain network location is used for domain networks such as those at enterprise workplaces. This type of network location is controlled by your network administrator and can't be selected or changed.
Note

  • If you know you won’t need to share files or printers, the safest choice is public network.
