The two computers are windows 7. One is Pro 64 bit the other Home Premium 32 bit. I'm getting this in the event viewer of the 32 bit Home premium. The name " WORKGROUP " :1d" could not be registered on the interface with IP address 192.168.1.25. The computer with the IP address 192.168.1.20 did not allow the namee to be claimed by this computer. 192.168.1.25 is a Windows 7Pro 64 bit and 192.168.1.2 is a Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit. This is what the event viewer shows.

Are you using static IPs or DHCP on these computers? Have you tried leaving that workgroup and creating a new workgroup (perhaps something like "workgroup2" or more unique)? And, are you using a third party firewall/security suite?

Both computers have static IPs. What this boiled down to I think was a browser war between the two computers over who would be the Master Browser. I read somewhere yesterday that the last one turned on would become the Master Browser. Both computers see each other OK so I'm not going to worry about it any more. Thank You for your response.
