I can repeatedly cause Explorer.exe to crash just by going back and forth in Control Panel. After looking at the event in event viewer it says that the faulting module is dui70.dll. I did a sfc /scannow and it found nothing. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this problem.

I'm running Windows 7 x64 RTM build 7600.16385 BTW

Is the filesize 714,752? dui70.dll is a ms system file and can be a virus. the reported size is above. More than likely its not a virus. Is there anything listed in event viewer relevant to the problem?

Let us know

Ken

It must be something with the display driver because if I turn it to Aero Basic there is no problem.

This driver is from Windows update... why would Microsoft let this through...

So, refering you to this post

"thank you everyone for the help on this issue.
Instead of the latest 190.38 driver , i used 186.18 now.

no more crashes so far. so much for being the latest driver "

was the wrong advice?

Well the guy in that thread was using Nvidia graphics... I'm using Intel graphics.

As far as I know I can't go back with graphics drivers.

Another guy later in the thread had the same problem with his Intel graphics, and he fixed it by moving a file out of System32.
