I am trying to extend my desktop onto a second monitor. I want to use the screen on the actual laptop as the primary display. I was able to do this previously, however I had to do a clean install of Windows 7 and I cannot get it to work anymore. I go into the resolution in the control pannel and it does not detect the monitor. I have tried plugging it in several times (VGA) to get it to do something, which it did not. Any suggestions?

As you can see on the HP site their are many DV9000 models, Search HP US - Search results for 'hp pavilion dv9000' so you need the full model # including any letters at the end>clcik on that Notebook>Then trouble shooting>then you will see softwear and drivers>choose your operating system>you'll most likely have to choose Vista or Vista 64 bit pending on which version of 7 your using.

Then you will see all the avalible drivers and software for your Notebook. Expand the different titles to find the correct driver for your Notebook.

You will most likely have to use compatibility mode to installl them.http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/316-compatibility-mode.html

Or you can use Window update through Device manager.
