Fail to update LibreOffice

This morning, I downloaded and installed the latest update to LibreOffice. It really screwed up my computer. I couldn't open any of my files... kept getting the same message saying it couldn't find the files. I restored the system back to yesterday but that failed to solve the problem. I decided that LibreOffice didn't install correctly so I deleted it and tried again. Same result.
I deleted it again and installed OpenOffice which works very well.
I'm an open source supporter and it bothers me to have to use Apache's OpenOffice.
Just wondering what happen with LibreOffice.
Thanks
James

@Rawad - Thank you for the reply -
No that's not what happened to me.
As I explained, I received the download and installed it. That's when the computer went toes up. It happened after I installed the latest version.
