Failed Resize Partition

Hello there.
i have two partitions in my wd-mybook they are R (1,1TB) and S (750GB).
yesterday i was intended to resize my second partition to smaller size then give the unalocated space to the first one.

i use the latest Easeus Partition Master to do this, because windows can't do such things.
after several minutes the program hangs at 99% with status "Updating System Information".
It happens for couple hours and the mybook led was flashing slow indicating no activities.

so i decide to reboot my computer.
after reboot, i check the partition size is still the same, R (1,1TB) and S (750GB).
but something wrong with my files.

they are missing and the Windows properties shows incorrect used/free space, it shows 734GB of used space while WindDirStat only show 414GB of used space.

update: i use easeus recovery wizard and manage to found those files. but it doesn't come in original folder structure. they are ps3 games / programs so every file has to be in the right folder structure.

Sorry to tell you this, but the screen shot looks like your partition table got hosed. There's no guaranteed one-click solution for that.

There are data recovery apps that might be able to recover the directories and files -- which you could then copy to an external drive. If you want to go that route, look at the ones provided by Runtime Software.

actually it is an external drive.
ya i heard such a good review on GetDataBack for restoring directory structure. and i'm intended to use it but first i have to find another drive to copy the 300-400GB recovery result (if it work).

another question,
if i format that partition, what happen to the free/used space? will it come back to normal?
risking data loss.

If you format you loose the data.

Next time use the Partition Wizard Boot cd to do your partitioning, it`s safer and works perfectly.

Partition Wizard Bootable CD allows user to manage partition directly with partition manager bootable CD.

You can use this method to try and recover your data.

yes i lose the data. but i still need to know if the free/used size will back to normal, displaying correct information?
i will consider that. thanks. i've been used easeus for a quite long time with no problem until today.
