Hello,
Recently, I've had some problems with the cooling system of my computer. It shut down a number of times, I'm afraid once or twice during installing/configuring updates as well. As a result, when updating I now get the error codes
8007054f
80070490
and the computer reverts back, repeatedly.
What I have done so far, perhaps not in ideal order:
1. Ran the FixIt tool from Microsoft, with no visible result.
2. Tried to manually reset the Windows Updates components, following the instructions given on the same page. (Indeed, when reregistering the BITS and Windows Updates files in step 6, I got 'The module X failed to load' and 'The module X was loaded but the entry-point DllRegisterServer was not found' messages for some of them, if necessary, I could list which exactly) - no visible result.
3. Ran CheckDisc, with both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors options checked - as above.
4. For just in case, ran the wmic-diskdrive get status from a command line prompt, and got back that the status was Ok.
5. Ran sfc /scannow, with the message that no integrity violations were found.
6. Downloaded and ran the SURT, it did hang for quite a while (perhaps about 6 hours or so).
7. Downloaded and tried to install manually one of the updates - again unsuccessfully.
Any suggestions for a next step?
Thanks.
