Have you googled the error message?

W/o your System Specs and more information is hard to help... even just to speculate.

My question would be where did you get the game from?

And I agree with Asta, more info would be nice, including answering the first question of where you got the game?

I looked at that video before and it didn't seem to help, and I can't really setup the game with admin rights because its steam and they like there stuff to much, and it only runs in comp mode

Also I had a look at the website Dude, and half the stuff there I've tryiedand most wouldn't makes sence mainly because this has happened on two computers and one has been built recently and had no chance to get malware, but Thanx for the link

I'm not sure "admin rights" is going to fix that issue; but if it doesn't, and this is a legitimate Steam game, you could try these...

- Verifying Game Cache Files (GCF)
- Defragmenting Game Cache Files

Good luck.

Unfortunately Fallout 3 and Windows 7 have bad history. And though I've not had any problems myself, the net if rife with people complaining about Fallout 3 and Win 7. In fact do a search in this forum and you'll find a ton of complaints.

I've verified, clean installed and defraged and it did not seem to help, and I have gotten it to work before on the same system an older laptop, pretty much the same just with worse specs, but I installed a clean W7 and it just stopped working giving me this error

May or may not be relevant but looking through the FO3 folder I saw the .NET folder and decided to install it but got an error saying I had to go to the 'turn windows features on or off' thingy but when I opened it I found it was empty, just posting it sounds like it could be something

the video did not help, probably because all the things in the video are to do with the game, and as i said, i'm pretty sure this has something to do with my system

Morzie,

Sorry to hear you are still having problems. You mentioned earlier you did a clean install...was that the game? At this point I would consider a clean windows install. Do the updates and add your antivirus. Then install the game. If that works then go through and install any other software you have, one at a time and see if you can see what causes the conflict. I know it's a pita, but if it gets the game running for you it's worth it.
