Hi,

Am hoping someone might have any thoughts on this.
Started today; never had this problem before.
No new downloads, or anything that I know of has changed.

Using Firefox.

All the shortcuts I have placed on the upper bar work just fine.
Clicking one goes right to that site.

I can enter a term in the Search bar fine.

But clicking on the Search button then does absolutely nothing.
No error msgs., just nothing happens.

I even downloaded and installed the latest version, but still the problem.

Sounds like, perhaps, one of the config. options has become changed, or...?

Any thoughts why this might be ? And how to correct ?

Thanks,
Bob

Hi Bob,

once your search item is input click the 'Enter' key. Do you use Noscript addon ?

You can check if you still have the XML files of the default search engines in the search plugins folder in the Firefox program folder.
If not then you need to reinstall Firefox.
Try to delete the search.json file and a possible search.sqlite file in the Firefox Profile Folder.

If I understand you correctly I had a problem very close to your problem.
Your homepage looks like your homepage but doesn't work like your home page.
Go to Tools/Options/General and remove the home page and type it in again.
I use Google so I typed in "http://www.google.com/"
Rebooted Firefox again
and things started working proper again.
