is there an version of firefox upa for win7 or is it just available for xp. is there anything that is comparable to this for a regular browser or is it just for portable ?

Seeing how the UPA version is basically a repacked portable FF, it should work on Windows 7 just fine.
The "normal " portable Firefox works for me as does a portable Chrome and a portable Opera.
But I never used the upa version before.
Did you try it out yet? Did you get any errors or strange behavior ?

I don't think this is a portable version; it also doesn't mention W7, but I'd try it; make a backup first in case it breaks something.

@33042: it HAS to be a portable version Otherwise it wouldn't make any sense since you are supposed to start it from an USB stick

when i tried to run it from my 16g patriot, it said i needed to install java. dont really know how to do that, unless it installs it and puts it where it needs to go. i also installed ultimate liberkey onto my usb to see what i would like using. has anyone had any experience with that program? i would like to build a thumb drive with tunneling capabilities so i can use it on comps that have admin locks on them. hope thats not breaking the rules. does anyone know how to get flashplayer to play on firefox portable?

to use flashplayer on a portable FF you need to copy the correct plugins from a regular firefox and put them into the portable installation you need
NPSWF32.dll and flashplayer.xpt copy them to [x]:\your path\portable\FirefoxPortable\Data\Plugins

thanx. if my comps at work dont have latest version of adobe and flash player. is there a way for me to put it on my ff port. so i can use them in user acct. we have no IT dept. just a bunch of the bosses pets with the admin password. its like the wild west out here. our EX IT guy came in the other night to go into the comps. dont know if that was legal or not, but he still has the passwords. he called from his cell phone to let me know our internet was down. does that strike anyone as being weird? or is it me?

LOL...yeah...it's the small companies where they're still believe, IT guys only sit their butts flat and are generally a waste of ressources....That opinion might change over time when the important parts of daily maintenance haven't been properly executed by the "pets"... been there done that.
those two files are all you need for Firefox to play flash files (SWFs and FLVs) if you have newer versions (and wright rights on said Plugins directory you could simply overwrite the old files with the new ones (without the hassle and all the fuzz the new flash player-installer causes)
Is that what you meant?
On the other hand you must have a users directory with write + create rights. You could always copy a ready configured portable FF in its own directory there and use that. That is not considered hacking since still all limitations employed by your "pet-admins" :roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:are still in effect.
