Folder Sharing Problems

I have one folder, one stupid folder on that simply will not give me access even though I am the administrator. I am at wits end as to how I should solve this problem. I can go through each and every file in the Video directory and edit ever single permission but that doesn't solve the problem on the whole. I just want to share the file and give myself complete access but alas it will not let me. HELP!

I assume you have taken ownership of the folder and included yourself in the owners group.

Was that folder from a different drive or OS? who owned it there?

It was from a Windows Vista OS. However I am using the same drive for music and pictures as well and those worked fine. I did have to do a fresh install for Win7, some oddities carried over from Vista that were giving me problems. I ended up deleting the homegroup entirely and the folder items are now accessible properly (which I still find odd). For the moment homegroup is not all that important but being able to use it in the future would be most nice.
