So I'm a computer guy myself but I can't quite figure this one out. I received a windows 7 dell computer from a friend of my mine. Only problem is that it's locked. Now, it's not locked as in, you turn on the PC, you let it load up, then it asks for the user password.

It's completely locked up. As soon as I hit the PC power button, a black screen immediately appears, and in the middle of the screen there's a white and blue box, titled "enter password" and when I get the password wrong, it reads "invalid password" after three consecutive wrong entered passwords, the PC shuts off. I've tried taping F11, control alt delete and holding down the power button but to no avail.

Is there any way around this? I won't be able to contact my friend for a few days as he is out of town and I today I just set up the computer and saw this. I've never seen it before. Is there any way around this or is the only way to wait for him to get back on town? Also, I'm new here, and I don't know if I can post pictures or not, I would be able to show everyone the screen if I can.

Any help would be appreciated ! Thanks

We cannot help you crack passwords because of the bad things that are possible you can do. You will just have to wait until your friend is back in town.
