I still have both MSE and Kaspersky installed, though I'm 99% sure the conflicts aren't created by both being present... Even with Malwarebytes running simultaneously. I've had the computer running with them fully deactivated and activated in turns, both disabling processes/services and without. I don't think they're the issue (though I will work on choosing one damn antivirus after this whole fiasco is over).

Tomorrow I'll play Planetside 2 for a bit and see if it BSODs or crashes.

I am not sure where you learned about computers.... but every freaking antivirus company would tell you not to run two antivirus at the same time..

though I'm 99% sure the conflicts aren't created by both being present..

If you are making judgements for yourself and doing things your way... please do leave us alone..... there are countless other people in this forum who atleast would listen and need our help.

Every person who advices you here are all based on the feedback you give us on the previous tip you have done.. It affects the next judgement we make here ......if you freaking don't do it..... you will end up getting no where !!!

I don't think they're the issue

If you think there is no issue.. Not sure why you came here in the first place ....... i would suggest you get a computer techician to help you and pay him for doing it....

I'm saying at the moment I do not have both of them running. I've temporarily disabled Kaspersky, and (as I mentioned in my post) I plan on eventually completely uninstalling one or the other. I'm not sure if having run them (or having them both installed) together in the past has contributed to BSODs, but booting without one or the other hasn't prevented BSODs from happening, hence I assume there's some other thing causing it.

Some other thing that is currently being addressed.
But thank you for your concern.

Disabling antivirus doesnt change anything... except that the realtime scan would stop... but you have other processes still resident in the memory and service... that would start back at even when you reboot..

We are here doing trial and error... we dont have physical access to your system... so everything we say next depends on the feedback we receive from you from the outcome of the previous step....

Some other thing that is currently being addressed.

what other things ??

Hi Whalen207,

Thanks for uploading it. I have managed to repair the registry corruption so all there's left to do now is to replace your hive with mine.

Could you download this file please:

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/16537616/Fixes/COMPONENTS/components.zip

Extract the contents to your Desktop, there should be one file, components (it has no file extension).

Navigate to C:\Windows\system32\config\ and rename the components file found in that folder to components.old as a backup. Now copy and paste the components file located on your Desktop into this folder. Should you run into any error about the file being in use etc., reboot and try again.

SFC Scan
  1. Click on the Start
    Start%20Orb.jpg
button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  2. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
  3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

    sfc /scannow

Wait for this to finish before you continue

    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log %userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt
  4. This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Please attach this to your next post.
Tom

That other thing.

Maybe I'm not disabling Kaspersky completely. What I usually do is go to the app, pause the protection, exit the application, close the process (Task Manager), suspend the service (Task Manager), and then start up the alternate Antivirus. I've also tried booting with Kaspersky off of the startup list, but usually I just manually disable it after startup.

Are there drivers that start up with Kaspersky that I cannot disable? I'm not sure if I'm doing it right, and I'm more than open to advice, but at the moment I'd like to focus on the corrupted windows files, then move on to possibly dodgy memory sticks, then possibly dodgy memory ports, and then worry about uninstalling antivirus programs (though at that point I'd probably just reinstall windows and start from scratch).

On that note, VistaKing... I don't think corrupted Windows Files can cause all those errors in Memtest, can they? Is 10,000 Errors over three runs of every test statistically significant?

EDIT: Also though the BSODs haven't happened outside of Planetside 2 lately (not necessarily because of corrupted files, but because Planetside 2 is the only thing that really works the CPU/Mem/Pagefile) Aurora (A version of Firefox) still crashes regularly, along with other web browsers and programs. I'll see if I can't submit some of these crash dumps to the firefox forums, unless you guys want copies here too.

If you're getting errors while you're running the memtest ( see image below ) that is a memory issue . Stop the test and test every ram one at a time on all Slots .

2v8hb7n.jpg

If you have a Dual Channel memory kit and one of the RAMs are bad replace both memory sticks . Call the manufacture and see if you have warranty on them and open up and RMA to get a replacement .

But how many errors signals a problem? Just one? 1,000? 100,000?

How Many signals a problem ? One would be enough of a memory issue . Do you have any Red while running the test on the bottom ? If yes then that means you have memory issues . Like I said if you have dual channel memory kit open up an RMA with the manufacture of the RAM sticks .

I'm not seeing any images linked in or attached to your post, sorry.

I see an image on my end .

Yes even 1 red in memtest is enough to say there is a memory issue..

In addition to what Vistaking said... test Each RAM at each slot induvidually for 7 to 8 passes to also confirm its not the motherboard memory slot that is the problem .

Yes ... He is not in United States so it will be some time.

What is the point of running the memory sticks on A1 and B1 ? If you ran the test and already got errors . Run 1 memory stick at a time to see which stick is bad .

Hi,

Patience is a virtue my friend - we're all volunteers here and do this out of the kindness of our heart. I just want to remind you that I don't have to be here, I choose to be; don't make me choose otherwise - I have a life outside this forum, you know.

Your CBS log is showing different files as corrupt now:

Yes ... He is not in United States so it will be some time.

What is the point of running the memory sticks on A1 and B1 ? If you ran the test and already got errors . Run 1 memory stick at a time to see which stick is bad .

ASRock's Z77e4 board (usually) works better if you use the A2 & B2 ports, which is the ones I'm currently using and the only ones I've tested on so far.

Hi,

Patience is a virtue my friend - we're all volunteers here and do this out of the kindness of our heart. I just want to remind you that I don't have to be here, I choose to be; don't make me choose otherwise - I have a life outside this forum, you know.
