Then a popup came up and said widows could not retrieve information about the disks on this computer, so I pressed ok. It brought me back to the install windows screen. So I clicked install now again and got back to the setup is starting... screen. This took me to the listener terms screen and I accepted and pressed next. I then clicked custom advanced but it said no drives were found. Click load driver to provide a mass storage driver for installation. What do I do? I am really freaking out now.
The disk warning error and behavior described means HD may be bad. Test your HDD with the maker's
HD Diagnostic extended CD scan and
Disk Check on a full disk partition you create and mark Active following Step 2.2 in
SSD - HDD Optimize for Windows Reinstallation .
The driver error you received most often means the installer is bad. Confirm your ISO download completed or download another, burn to disk using ImgBurn or write to bootable flash stick using
UltraISO Software To Create Bootable USB Flash Drive .
Try
Clean Install Windows 7 to the partition you create above with all other HD's and peripherals unplugged. Report back results including verbatim error messages.
