Ghost 15 Does Not See C:\ Drive

Hi!

I have two almost identical computer setups. Computer #1 has a 1TB HD and Win7 Pro installed. The HD contains 2 partitions - a 100MB System Reserved partition (no drive letter assigned) and a Win7 partition (drive C: assigned). Ghost 15 sees and will back up both partitions. Computer #2 has a 512MB SSD with Win7 Pro installed and a 1TB HD for data. The SSD contains 2 partitions - a 100MB System Reserved partition (no drive letter assigned) and a Win7 partition (drive C:\ assigned). The 1TB HD has one partition - drive letter D:\ assigned. Ghost 15 sees drive D:\ and the System Reserved partition and will backup both. But it does not see the C:\ partition and any backup is useless without the Win7 system being backed up.

Any thoughts on why this happens and how to get Ghost 15 to see/backup the C:\ drive would be appreciated.

Thanks!

We see nothing but problems here with Norton. Are you aware that Win7 has built-in Drive imaging by typing "Backup" in the Start Search box? 20 minutes later you'll have your image stored to use to recover from booted Win7 disk. If you might want a different offset than where it is now on the disk, most of us recommend free Macrium Imaging - Windows 7 Help Forums which is a bit more flexible.

Hi! Gregrocker,

Thanks for the reply. I understand Ghost has problems. Just trying to figure out why my two similar systems show up differently in Ghost 15. Will try Macrium at some point as you recommended.

As requested, I have posted screenshots of Disk Management-Computer 1, Ghost-Computer 1, Disk Management-Computer 2, and Ghost-Computer 2 below.

Hi! Gregrocker,

I deleted the paging file on D:\ drive and changed the paging file on the C:\ drive to system managed. I rebooted the computer and tried to backup the system with ghost. Same results - D:\ drive was seen but C:\ drive was no where to be found.

Oh, well - time to stop working on this problem since no solution is in sight.

Thanks for the help/suggestions.
