Headphones don't work for me for some reason. I have an HP laptop, and it has two headphone jacks, but if I connect to one of them, the sound still comes out of the speakers...

Anyone else have a similar problem, or is it just me?

You need to go to your sound manager and disable your front panel detction and that should fix it, that is if you have sound manager which is for Realtek HD integrated sound.

If this is what you have you will also want to upgrade the drivers to the latest which is 2.14.

I had to make the headphones the default device which you do by clicking on Sound in the Control Panel. So when you unplug your headphones the laptop speakers automatically become the default device.
