Help Fast please!

Hi, my computers running windows 7 home premium x64. im having a real problem with the RAM. my computer was of the vista transfer to 7 age. i got windows 7 as part of the free upgrade program. i have 8gbs of ram, and for some reason, it fills up to 90-100% for no reason. just running media players, and a web browser. i contacted hp about this problem and said either something has a memory leak, or my computer has something wrong. the warrenty is still on, but this isnt covered in it. please help and tthx in advance

ooh and some additional info wen dis happens i plug a couple of usbs and use readyboost in hopes to fix or reduce the damage.the last time it said sysmain.msc was dis abled. could this be help full? and it wud b nice if u cud explain how 2 do wat u just tld me

Click Start, then type "msconfig.exe" in the Search box. Open msconfig, click on the Boot tab, click Advanced Options and make sure that the circled option is set to 0.

Shut Down & Restart computer

Then see how it does.

oh ya just to let u kno, the RAm stays like that for an hour or 2 and then goes back to normal (normal ranging from 20-50%). ok i will try the restart and let u kno

Stress test your RAM overnight with memtest86 CD.

Avoid overclocking or any tweaks other than normal system settings.

You do not need ReadyBoost with 8gb of tested good RAM. It is just another page file and can cause conflicts.

well i know seeing as my computer is under 1 year old, i have a feeling that all 8 gb of ram is good. i still have a feeling that its a program with a memory leak. and why yesterday was sysmain.msc aka superfetch turned off? and when i typed it in the start menu, nothing for that search came up. right now my ram is at 26% and before this problem, wouldnt go over 30% on normal days. any other ideas? all help is very appreciated

Your problem could hinge on whether you did an upgrade install or a clean install which most members will agree clean install is the best. My suggestion would be to do a clean install and get a fresh start all the way to the registry with no residual from Vista

What were the memory test results? Age of RAM has nothing to do with possible problems which would be revealed in a memtest86 run overnight to stress test RAM.

Do not turn off any Win7 Services.

Google any repeat errors in Event Viewer>Admin View to find out how others have solved them.

How is performance. Are there any hangs/freezes? Using all of the RAM is not undesireable if there are no performance drags.
