Solved Help me with my graphics driver please it's emergency(nvidia geforce)

Hello people i have a huge problem and i need your help immediatly!I have a sony vaio VGN-AR61M when i bought it it had Windows Vist 32 bit and graphics driver: Nvidia Geforce 8400M GT GPU,after 3 years (now) i formated it in windows 7 64 bit and now i can't find the driver of the graphics card anywhere.I need it for my job please if you can help me do it

Have you ran Windows Updates since installing Windows 7? Whenever I have re-installed Windows 7 on my PC it downloads the right Nvidia driver for me when I run Windows Update.

If Windows Updates doesn't have a driver for you, then try going to this site.

H'mmm. I see they have an "auto detect" feature on the web page. I have never used it, but it might be worth a shot if all else fails.

No it does not work.In my old pc it was working but now i get the following error:
GeForce 8400M GT

This product has been detected as your primary device
Your product manufacturer requires you to download a driver for your device from their website

When I went to the Sony website, I see they have a graphics driver for Vista, but none for Windows 7. You could try installing the Vista driver, as it should be compatible with Windows 7. When I installed Windows 7 on my older PC that came with XP, I had to use a few Vista drivers myself and they worked just fine with Windows 7.

The problem is that the Vista driver is 32 bit and my windows7 64...

Did you try downloading the Vista driver and installing it? Even though you have a 64bit OS, it still might work with 32bit software.

Two other options you could try are to install the 32bit version of Windows 7, or upgrade your graphics card. I don't know if either of those options work for you, but thought I'd toss them out there anyway.

I have a laptop so it is a little bit difficult to upgrade my card.And if i install 32bit windows i will have to format my pc?again?

I'm not sure how your HDD is setup, but you can create a new partition to save all your data to and then re-install the OS to your current OS partition. That way you wouldn't lose any data. It would also be a good idea to backup your data to an external drive if you have one, before re-installing just as precaution.

No problem! Just hope you can get things sorted using the link derikimo provided. At least if you end up having to re-install Windows 7 32bit, you can use the same license from the COA that came with the 64 bit version to activate it.
