Welcome to seven forums Try booting into safe mode. And installing the driver form device manager If that won't work PM torrentg he can get it to work for you. He's going to need you to go to device manager>right click on your display adapter>details tab>drop down menu>hardware id and copy and paste the code. With this information he can get you a driver that will work. Aslo here is a thread on ATI AGP Cards http://www.sevenforums.com/graphic-cards/35299-install-agp-drivers-hd-3850-3650-2400-pro.html Fabe

Hi TheFabe

It will not boot even in safe mode just stops?? gets to the blank screen were you would see the drivers being installed then just stops, I have tried to remove drivers before installing card, but assumed that windows would just load vga drivers so i can then load the windows 7 drivers, but just stops, so i do not get anywhere,

Thanks

Maybe I'm not understanding what your experiencing, cause if you can't boot into safe mode and you can't get windows to boot.Since after you installed the drivers your system would hang and prevent you from booting into safe mode,so it's probably the divers for your AGP card causing the problem. This is why I recommended a starup repair so you could get your system up and running. Windows would install a standard vga driver for your card. Then once you can get into device manager we can figure out how to install a working driver for your specific card. So if your thinking the video card drivers are causing the problem why would you want to install them first? Wouldn't you expect the same out come?

Motherboard is too old. It's not going to work on Windows 7.

You have "NVIDIA nForce2 Ultra 400 System Platform Processor (SPP)"

nForce3 doesn't even work

Anything that is compatible with all your existing stuff like CPU, RAM and having AGP.

As long as it's not NVIDIA chipset or if it is, nForce5 (to be safe) or above.

It probably will work because VIA has Vista drivers for it on its page, but you're still taking a chance.

In my opinion, yes it should be fine. But not a fact or anything.
