Help with wallpaper sizing (Black space filling)

Hello People!

My problem is the following: I have a wallpaper which is not the same resolution as my desktop, but it has a white background, which makes it look kind of dumb when the rest of the screen fills with black fillers.

is there any way to change the colour of the fillers or could someone with more knowledge explain to me how i get this to work?
