I've got two questions.

One, when trying to install the game Texas Hold'em (vista edition), the help does not work under windows 7 64bit. The game itself runs/plays fine but the help doesn't, comes an error about help not found. Now I followed the install directions perfectly. I checked the path where the help files are stored (C:\Windows\Help\Windows\en-US) and it shows the game's help file listed (holdem).

Now here's the twist, everything works perfectly when I install it to a 32bit system. The game setup/install folders has both 32bit and 64bit files and the install.bat file detects which system type's files are needed and copies them to there locations without fail.

Two, I try to install the update Windows6.1-KB917607-x64, which is support for old style help files but it displays the error "data invalid Error code 0x8007000d" instead. I downloaded the update again, thinking it was corrupted but it still displays the same thing. The 32bit version installed perfect on my pc.

The offending pc in question is a Acer netbook that has Win 7 home premium 64bit installed. It's not even mine, It's my girlfriend's.

Hi fordman83 Welcome to Windows 7 Forums Your problem seems to be with Windows Activation . So you might be better to post a new thread under Windows Update and Activation as more experienced experts in this area would be able to see your post there and offer their assistance

Update:

Well I solved my second question. Seems my installation file was corrupt after all. Downloaded it from a different site and voila it installed without complaints.

The Texas Hold'em help file is still not working under 64bit windows however so that one is still open. I wonder if maybe the help file itself is the problem since both the included 32bit and 64bit versions with the install package are the same size. I thought the 64 bit one would be a little larger but maybe not.
I've no way to really test this though

Why all the fuss over a help file for a poker game?

Everyone is dealt 2 cards, bets, 3 card flop, bets, 1 card turn, bets, 1 card river, bets, showdown, best hand wins.

<g>

Vista edition on Windows 7.... hmmm!
