What is your overall goal with this cpu? They are good up to about 75C, right? So, I'm a little confused on why getting it down to 15C is desired? Do you plan to overclock it a ton?

15C is just a byproduct of my boredom, lol. There was an original goal of working as good or better for the same amount of money as a budget hydro-cooler. Though I do plan for a 6 core CPU, overclocked.

BTW, as the thermal paste settles, I'm down to 12C

Cool, if you are doing it for fun that's all that matters. I was just wondering and thought perhaps I was really missing something. I like to keep it as simple as possible. In fact, I run a Q9550 quad core with a stock Intel Cooler and I overclock from 2.83ghz to 3.40ghz.

My values are only important to me as I run a totally different processor, mobo, overclock and case fan set up as well I used the stock provided thermal compound because I was lazy to remove it. My temps fluctuate from 32c to 43c max the idle temps vary with ambient but the high usage temps don't vary as much unless it gets crazy hot in the room. As long as I'm in the low to mid 40's and can push my 3.4 to 4.1 then I'm happy. 15c is remarkable with a 78f room imho !
