Proper definitions of 'ancient' aside, shouldn't it at least be the other way around?

Using that scale - logically, 13-17 should be the starting point for 'ancient' and then it works inversely until 45+ becomes a negative age...

Time can be negative, or positive with a multiplier. Simple examples of both:

Negative time: The time which it takes from the moment you start a project, and give up the said project. The nature of the project can be anything: work project, affair, house renovation etc.

Multiplied time: Very common among all people and businesses billing by the hour, for instance lawyers, auto repair shops, computer technicians, plumbers and painters etc. For instance, an average 50 year old lawyer with 25 years of working experience has billed (average) 481,800 hours, which would be about 55 years of working 8 hours a day 7 days a week, with no holidays.
