How to rename install folder

I installed some programmes in a folder with a gibberish name. I renamed the folder, but my programmes don't work like they should. They still work, but for example I can't open pdf files directly. Because my pc can't find adobe reader anymore.

So my question is how can I properly rename the folder where I installed some programmes.

The problem doing so will be with the Registry. When installing programs the Registry entries are created so Windows will know where to find and how to run programs. Best/safest bet is to try to uninstall the errant programs then re-install where you can either accept the location or change it as desired, most programs allow it early in the install routine.
