How to take complete ownership of a hdd or folder

I tried the help but it is too confusing. For example I want to remove any sharing of a folder or hdd in my system (if such share policy exists). And I want to know how to take complete ownership and be the sole owner for a hdd. When I right-click the hdd for exmaple F: and go to the properties/security tab. Basically I get lost there.

As far as the sharing question: you might be able to use the NTFS permissions settings to do that but you might also need to take these steps http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/129063-take-ownership-allow-prevent-users-groups.html

The reg files in the tutorial are not mine. You can see the member that published the tutorial on the right side of the tut. You can read thru each tutorial and see which ones have reg files that interest you

IMHO, one must take extreme care while modifying the registry. It's always advised to backup the registry before you modify. You must know what you are actually doing before using a .reg file on your system.
