I have only ever purchased OEM operating systems and was unaware that legally they can't be transferred from the original computer. That's great that they okayed it, exactly what did you say to them, and did they ask any questions?

"How Gracious"
Why so sensitive to getting something may be wrong? I'm happy for him/her beating the system and I hope to do the same thing one day.

I would like to hear more about this and how the law can be got around.

What is there to hear more about? It isn't a law..it is a EULA. If you buy OEM, and want to transfer to a new computer, then do so, but be expected to call in the activation. It's as simple as that. You aren't breaking any laws, but you are in violation of the EULA, which is your decision, and probably shouldn't be discussed on a forum board. Most other forums I post on won't allow those discussions, so as to not be shut down.

How did you prove anyone wrong? You proved that it is possible to violate the EULA and have it reactivated on another system. People have been doing this for 8 years now, since XP's release. The question is, and always has been, if you wish to violate the EULA or not. That's it. It isn't about breaking a law, or proving anyone wrong. Moving OEM licenses and having them reactivated has never been a big secret...it's all about the EULA.

Careful you don't separate your shoulder patting yourself on the back so hard!
