Hai - I need help as much as I can get...

I have HP laptop dv2807nr, windows 7 x 64. It doesnt start up. But when I used f10 the BIOS window opened.
Then I contacted HP customer support, they askemd me to remove and replace HDD and Memomry....i did that. Now not even f10 fn is working.
Now when I tried to start the laptop.....it makes 3 beep sound and the nothing comes on the screen. Can hear that fan is working....power button is blinking.
AC power connection is fine and the battery is fine too.

Can someone pls help or suggest some solutions...pls

Thanks
Sumi

Hiya pal, and welcome to the forums.

From what I can remember on some mainboards 3 beeps means a memory problem (this does differ from board to board)

Try removing the memory and then reseat each dimm 1 at a time making sure they are firmly connected (Try rebooting with only 1 dimm at a time installed). (don't try this sitting on the carpet - as the electrical discharge could fry the dimms) ;)

I was working on a friend's IBM laptop and when I removed parts, the laptop's display switched to the VGA port and not the LCD. I had to to hook up an external monitor via the VGA port and go into the BIOS and set the output to LCD or BOTH (VGA and LCD). I don't know if your laptop has that option, but if it does, it could be why you're not getting a display on the LCD.
