I am having a problem with Adobe flash player crashing. Please look at this link of the Firefox plugin's https://www.dropbox.com/s/nqaafpbizy2w32w/firefox plugins.jpg I am also having a problem with the text editor on Tripod. The problem with the Tripod text editor only happens in Firefox. See the next link https://www.dropbox.com/s/ap8ikm5p6r20hh4/tripod edit screen.jpg I have tried the Tripod text editor in Internet Explorer, Google Crome and Netscape. In all 3 browsers the text editor works fine. Only in Firefox am I having problems. Also I have tried Adobe flash player in the other 3 browsers and Adobe flash player never has crashed even once. I did try completely uninstalling Firefox and all settings and profile and reinstalling a fresh clean copy of Firefox, it didn't help. I am have no other problems with Win7 home 32bit. Windows speed is up to par and the broadband internet connection is up to par also. I hate to have to wipe the c hard drive clean and reinstall everything just for a few problems in 1 program.

The gateway laptop model MD2614U died because a voltage regulator on the motherboard went poof. The Gateway laptop has been scraped.
you most likely should not have to wipe the drive because of this. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling flash player? If not i would try that and see what happens and if there are still issues post back.

You don't seem to have a plugin for Flash: Did you install the proper version of Flash for Firefox?

Adobe Flash Player Distribution | Adobe : Look at the second entry, which is the plugin version for, among others, Firefox.

You did not speak to the question of your having a Shockwave Flask plugin in Firefox. Is it there? If not, what version of Flash did you install? If it is there, have you tried turning off hardware acceleration?

"Firefox menu > Tools > Options > Advanced > General and untick 'Use Hardware Acceleration when...'. Then restart Firefox."

A few suggestions

Firefox can screw up sometimes. If you backup your Firefox profile you can restore everything after a full removal and fresh reinstall of Firefox. I needed to do this myself yesterday after a problem with an add on!

Firefox Profile backup (MozBackup)

As for flash player it's usually best to run the removal tool following "all" instructions listed then reboot to flush the system cache before installing the latest version.

How to uninstall Flash Player

As for Google Chrome it comes with it's own version of flash player and the above methods do not remove the Flash Player component of Google Chrome. It's been a couple of years since I used Chrome but I do remember that allowing Chrome to update to the latest version didn't remove the previous versions. The result is that you end up with remnants of old versions of flash player on your system. Perhaps another forum member can give advice on this. I might simply export Chrome Bookmarks then go for full chrome removal followed by a reinstall but check advice from other forum members before doing this.

Old Chrome Remover - I'm not sure that this software has been updated for a while. They suggest using system Ninja instead. Again check before using.

Once all remnants of flash player have been removed and a fresh install has taken place please read the following as it should help fix your flash player crash problem:

Check to see if have two versions of Flash running at the same time

Other than that the "disable hardware acceleration" tip posted by Not Myself is a good one to try.

You'd need to install two versions of flash player:

Flash Player for Internet Explorer

and

Flash Player for other browsers.

All problems with Firefox have been solved by a fresh new, latest verison, install of Firefox except for 1 problem. I still can't input any text in the txt editor in my Tripod web page www.kc7byp.tripod.com/index.html‎ I have tried other web browsers and the edit box works fine
