I am losing space from C disk

I installed steam to D disk and i selected download place as D disk but when I download a game I lose 1gb space from c disk but games are installing on d disk

why am i losing space from c disk?

Open CMD as admin, run command VSSADMIN DELETE SHADOWS /FOR=C: /ALL
it should free up some space on C drive
