I.E. 11 Purged

This is similar to Thread from 2014, BUT not quite.
I run Windows 7 Professional 64bit.
I.E. 11 was accidentally purged, and I do mean purged.
I no longer have ie4uinit.exe or iexplore.exe.
I did a System Restore to a point before it was lost and accomplished nothing. The cab file did point out that a number of restores did not happen because folders were missing(why not create as part of a restore?).
I tried to install 10 and 11 but get a message it didn't finish and go to a website that is unknown and can't be linked from the message even though it allows selection(probably wants IE to see the website).
I have a custom machine that has an OEM product code and I am in the middle of moving and can't even find that disk. Even if I could I don't believe I could do a recovery from it of some version of IE.

Totally frustrated as most of the Control Panel options require IE greater than 5.5. "Help and Support" won't work, without I.E. I am sure.

I hope I am starting my first thread correctly.
Thanks

I had copied files, especially ie4uinit and iexplorer, from my wifes computer. She has Windows 7 Home and the latest IE. Now when I try to install it says I have the latest IE. Yet, it won't run it when I execute iexplorer.exe or ie4uinit.exe. ie4uinit.exe says ordinal 701(iertutil.dll) could not be located in the dynamic link library. I will try and find this on my wife's machine and move it. I am hoping I don't have to go into the Register, but I have been there before.
Thanks

I just did a search on iertutil.dll and I have a dozen or more. Mostly in winsxs and a Temp.Download.

I just tried to update System32 and Syswow64 and winsxs and working with the permissions and Read setting does NOT allow manual update of the necessary files. What a joke.
I have run many of Microsoft's fix and recovery programs with no luck.

Hi,
Just curious how this so called "purge" took place :/

Repair install or clean install so either find the disk or a iso to use with your oem key.

Stupidity is the usual culprit, got IE and not Chrome. I can't clean out all references. I tried to copy my wife's latest version. I now get different messages from what I try. I can't load her stuff into SYSTEM32 and SYSWO64 to see if that would allow an install. I seem to have the latest pieces somewhere that it finds, It just won't run or install.

You do know that many of the objects in those folders are hard links and not actual files - right? Since you have been messing with the objects and permissions on those folders, you might as well do a repair install or a fresh install.

I assume the ISO file does a complete replace of Windows 7 Professional 64bit. How would this impact other programs installed(Firefox, ccleaner, avast, quicken, etc). My current version has an OEM product code.

Humpty Dumpty fell off the wall and all the kings men had scrambled eggs for breakfast.

Back up your personal files and doing a clean install would remove anything existing on the disk.
After a clean install stay out of the registry :p

Does the ISO create a new product code?
Are there any conflicts with the C: partition being on a SSD?
