Hi
Like the title says i need some help in order to overclock my system.
I know that it is alot to ask but i can't find a decent guide for my system in order to overclock it. i have a utility called Asus AI suite but it cannot push my cpu above 3Mhz and i hate that!
I could use some help from someone who knows the bios (ASUS STRIKER II EXTREME ACPI BIOS Revision 1301) to guide me and tell me what to touch and what not to!
I should mention also that with my default timing settings on my memory i used to get freezings when i pushed the system and when i changed them from 9.9.9.22 to 9.9.9.24 the freezings stoped!
i curently have a stable system on 3Mhz with Asus AI suite on turbo mode and 9.9.9.24 timings but i would like to push it a litle bit more but not to loose stability!! (3.6 MHz would be awesome!)
This pc is for Gaming purpuses :)
Thank you in advance

you don't need to mess with memory timings only the frequency.
At the same time even though it's slightly older you have a very nice cpu there, that should handle anything you throw at it.
When you try to tighten memory timings you are actually making things more difficult to overclock.
IF you were looking to keep your cpu speed constant and only wanted to speed up the memory I would then suggest that route. ...most the time it's going to result in problems though as they are generally sold timed about as good as they can get.

I wouldn't mess with the timings also but the pc was freezing all the time and after some search i found the manifacturers timings so i guessed that i should trust what they say..
what would you sugest me to do in order to archieve a stable pc with beter cpu performance?

Hmm... actually let me send you to this thread on another site.
Intel E6850 Overclock Advice? - Overclockers Forums

read the whole thing.
I don't think you'll reach 3.6 stable on that chip, 3.4 might be realistic it's just going to take some meddling.
I want you to read that thread because it kind of outlines the process of it, which is what you actually need to know. (also note it's 2 pages)

oh and one last thing it's been bothering since you started this thread I just now realized what it actually is.
Your chip is measured in Ghz not Mhz
