ie8 issues

sorry to bother you all just finsihed a windows 7 upgrade from vista however when i try to connect to the internet it wont let me, my little icon down the bottom says im connected to my router and internet and i can even download mail messages through outlook however cant get onto the internet.

can anyone help me with this

I have solved my problem connecting to the Internet by going to the Security tab in IE8 and lowering its' slider to the bottom. Now I can connect. Avira still can't get updates but that may be a different problem.

just tried this and it worked also then reset back to default level but unticked the "enable protected mode" and now all is working
