Install Malwarebytes Premium 2.0

I have a lifetime license that is for 1.75. Should I jump straight onto 2.0 or will I have to install 1.75 first then 2.0? (My laptop already has MBAM and I will upgrade it on it too)

I installed 2.0 directly on top of 1.75 Pro (lifetime) without incident. Worked OK for a week. Your key for 1.75 should work for 2.0 whether or not 1.75 is actually installed.

But I've gone back to 1.75 as I had some issues with 2.0, System Restore, and the "malicious website blocking" setting.

I installed 2.0. All was OK. This was March 24

A week later, I had to do a System Restore to March 26. That went OK, but when the PC booted after the restore, I got a red onscreen warning from Malwarebytes that I was not protected. There was a big green "Fix Now" button, so I poked it. Nothing changed. Still the red warning.

I drilled into Malwarebytes and found that the "malicious website blocking" checkbox setting was unchecked. It had been checked after I upgraded and right up until the time I did the System Restore.

No amount of fiddling, rebooting, and checking the checkbox was any help. The red warning remained. The green "Fix Now" button had no effect. The checkbox would not stay checked and keep that checked setting.

Who needs that?

I updated both of my computer from Malwarebytes 1.75 Pro to 2.0 Pro with no download or instillation problems.
If you do a restore point where 1.75 was on your computer then their could be a problem.
If you have the COA key for Malwarebytes Pro I can think of three ways to install Malwarebytes Pro.
1. Just use your COA key number and update 1.75 to 2.0 again.
2. If Malwarebytes is completely removed from your computer Just download the Malwarebytes Pro 2.0 install it and use your COA key.
3. If their is no Malwarebytes on you system download and install Free Trial of Malwarebytes and then use the COA key to upgrade to the Pro 2.0.

On my systems when I installed Malwarebytes 2.0 their is no 1.75 on my computer any more. I'm presuming that installing 2.0 removed 1.75.
Malwarebytes 1.75 will still be in restore points.

I really didn't have any problems using 2.0 but I did find that using it and doing a learning of the changes did help me.
Their are some things I will call bugs for lack of another term that I believe Malwarebytes will take care of. None of these bugs will stop me from using 2.0.

Still waiting for a reply from mabm on the protection mode red flag after updating ?
The only difference is I never used system restore to get the red flag,
I did however get the 383 error after uninstalling 2.0 and using system restore then opening the prior mabm shortcut
The mabm clean link posted in the security section 383 error thread replied by Maxie at least gone me back to ground zero and entered my activation key as bear has said,

I did not report my issue to the MWB forum.

I had installed 2.0 on top of 1.75. I don't know if that is at the root of the problem I had.

Most likely, I'll wait a few months and then try again after 2.0 has presumably undergone some code changes. Instead of installing on top of 1.75, I'll remove 1.75 with the Malwarebytes tool and then clean install 2.0 Maybe that will make a difference.

But the larger point is that System Restore is more important to me than having the newest version of Malwarebytes. If I have to choose between the two, I'll go with MWB 1.75 and a working System Restore. If at some point MWB 1.75 is no longer supported, I'll worry about that at that time.

No I have not tried all the different ways.
I had no need to.
I just downloaded and installed 2.0 over the top of 1.75 with no problems. I have been using 1.75 Pro for a long time.
