Hi everyone. I got some problems with my laptop and i can't install it on my primary drive. So I created a partition drive. Is it ok to install windows 7 on the partition drive which is a logical drive. I have windows 7 starter installed and i want to change it to windows 7 ultimate. Is it ok to install windows 7 while your pc is working? On working, I mean while it's turned on. It's because i cant install it after reboot or what I mean is after the startup of the name of your mobo. Sorry for my bad english.

PS. If you have questions just ask, and I will gladly reply. Thanks.

In your case if you can't use Anytime Upgrade, you'd boot the installer as shown in this video: How to Boot A Computer from CD or DVD - YouTube then follow these steps to Clean Install Windows 7.

If you'll tell us your PC make/model we'll tell you if its worth keeping your Recovery partition since many will not run after a Clean Reinstall. If not you should delete all partitions during install Step 7, create and format new as you wish to get the cleanest install.
