Not sure if this is the right place to put this.

I have some problems with some compatibily issues and i dont want to talk about them.
So, when i insert the WINXP installation disk i want to directly install the OS.But surprise, the text "Install Windows XP" is written in gray, so i cant select it.
After that, i rebooted my PC and waited for some message like: Strike any key to boot from cd..."" ,but no text appeared, and windows started normally.I googled some keywords like How to install windows xp on windows 7, but none of them helped me.Please tell me what to do in order to give up on windows 7 and to install XP.

Note:1 the installation disk is good, on other computers works.
2 i am a pretty advanced user, so dont tell me noobish things please.
3 if your really want to know why i am giving up on win7 ask me.

Thank you.

I don`t think so...still, it makes no sense to me formating a disk because i can't boot from cd when PC starts. Please explain, or find something else.Aniway, i appreciate the fast reply and the interest.

Well, we have not considered the simple options, but maybe your BIOS is not set up to boot from DVD? If it is, do you see any reason why it wouldn't? If it is set up and not booting, you should have a faulty DVD drive, since at that stage the OS is not even operating yet

In fact, i`ve discovered the solution before you posted it,wally.
Yes, my BIOS couldnt read the DVD because i have 2 of them, and i inserted the installation disk in the second one....that's why i couldn't boot.
Aniway, thanks for the reply and sorry for disturbing. :)
