Internet Explorer 8 - Cookies

Hi,

I'm new here with a question ghehehe;

I can delete my cookies at the Browse History (Internet Options) but not all cookies are empty. Normally, when I empty/delete my cookies, I have to login again at websites again. At some websites I don't have to. Can anybody help me? I don't understand why...

Hello, Welcome! Without knowing what websites you are referring to, it is hard to say. My best guess is that some site store your login info in cookies, other save it in their servers, based on your IP address.

I'm reffering to mostly communities, but some other websites like a gameclicking website and symbaloo.com... When I had XP and I went to my cookies map (local file map in Windows) I deleted everything and when I opened IE, everything was deleted. If I go to the map now in Windows 7 (C:\Username\Default\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Cookies) it shows that the map is empty? Even though I deleted my cookies and now I'm back online...

Edit: And even here, I don't need to login again...

How are you deleting your cookies? From the Internet options dialogue or deleting the files?

From the internet options dialogue. With XP I used to delete the files 'cause I had the same problem with XP that I have now with Windows 7...

I am just waiting for someone else to post who knows more than I do, but in the meantime, you could try CCleaner.
Warning: CCleaner has been know to mess up the system when users delete everything it suggests without reviewing the results. Before you delete anything, make sure you know what it is.

I know what that is, I used to use the program myself but I don't want it to delete my cookies everytime I restart my computer... Thanks for your help! I'll wait for someone who knows more and in the meanwhile I consider using CCleaner again.

CCleaner does not always automatically run on startup, only if you tell it to. Under Options>Settings there is a check box.

I used CCleaner and it worked... It was pretty scary but I guess it went good... It showed up a list with stuff like macromedia in the roaming map but I took a chance. Does anyone know where you can change some options about the program that has to do with deleting every files?

What do you mean? The whole program is very small. It would take you 3 minutes to become familiar with every setting.

I clicked on Analyse and Clean up when I started the program, didn't uncheck any boxes. My mom said it was OK and so I did. Can anyone tell me which boxes I need to check/uncheck? That's what I meant by it all

And now I have to login on every website again. I shut down my computer yesterday and now I started it and I have to login again on every website. And I unchecked the box saying 'Computer automatically cleans when starting up'.

Edit: Nevermind this ^. That's fixed!

I don't know. I restarted my computer again after use the login option on every website and it was fixed ghehe! And everything still works fine, so thanks!
