Internet stops working randomly

I allready tried that during this thread but tried it again just to be sure but it didn't help. I sent emails to D-link and Sweex now. See if they can help.... I wil let you know.

Thanks for your help chev65.

Yes it's acting like a router problem and it may be that the router is going out or something, hard to say from my end.

I am ashamed to say how simple the solution was.... I installed the PCI card in a different Desktop. It worked perfect.... So that could only mean the other desktop was in the wrong position.
I moved the whole desk it was on a few inches away from the wall. And that did it.... And i don't know why it did not give a problem before and INSIDDer gives the same signal strenght as the neighbours.... now it is faster then it ever was!!
So much work i did for nothing!!
Thanks for helping out even as it was not a windows problem.

Yes PCI network cards tend to get jammed up against walls because they install in the back of a PC. Needless to say this doesn't do much for the antenna on the PCI card. Usually the signal strength will give you a good idea of what the problem is.

My PCI card has a 6 foot long extension cable that goes to a triple antenna, I'm able to hang this antenna out the windows on my garage which makes the signal strength much better.

Here is what I get with my Asus AC66U wireless AC router. Yes it's actually faster than a 1Gb wired connection. :)

Wow, thats really amazing:shock:! I just bought two of these:

6-inch SMA Antenna - Free Shipping - DealExtreme

So i can place the antenna next to my desk. I hope (and guess) that will help enough. For that money at least i can't go wrong.
