Solved iTunes Will Not Open.

I know it sounds weird but I believe it was my HP Wireless Comfort Desktop software.

It was causing my PC to bluescreen but once uninstalled that stopped.

That program did include shortcuts to iTunes and controls to skip song ect. I know it may be a stretch but it is the only change to my PC since the issue.

itunes will not open

I found a suggestion on this website - remove all programs tagged Apple in remove program section of control panel. Reinstall itunes and iphone drivers and the program booted up.

Solved

Hello,

I found same issue with iTunes in Windows 7 x64.

Not worked even in safe mode (pressed CTRL+SHIFT and clicked on iTunes) but I found that old version of QuickTime was installed and blocks iTunes to start normal.

Removed QuickTime (old version) installed new version and perfectly starts iTunes again.

iTunes Will Open

I searched many threads with this topic and never came across the solution I discovered so I decided I better sign up and make a post.

#1) I found that iTunes will open if I reboot Windows in safe mode, if this works for you then you probably have the same issue I had.

#2) I patched the problem by adjusting the compatibility setting to Windows Vista (right click iTunes icon, choose properties, click on compatibility tab, choose Run in compatibility mode Windows Vista)

Unfortunately iTunes comes up with a warning message I can't seem to get rid of, but after so many times re-installing, deleting, messing in the registry, I'll deal with the message for now.

Crazy since it was working fine before. It happened shortly after I install Music Manager from Google. Not saying....just saying.
