Hi,

i am having a LAN jmicron pci express gigabit ethernet adapter in my notebook. In my Firefox and IE, I keep on encountering this problem "The connection was reset" in my browser and i have to refresh the page again in order to connect ot the page. During my http download (such as download from Megaupload.com), my download often fails with "the source file cannot be read".

Could anyone please give me a help on what should I do.....

Thank you very much.

Hi
This is not a problem with you computer check the internet connection it must be getting disconnected and reconnected. you can try using some 3rd party software like flashget to download. then even if the internet gets disconnected you can resume the download

Cheers

How are you connecting to the internet. is it direct through a dsl router or proxy. is it the same result when you connect with your wireless adopter. If not then try with a static ip address on the adopter. with the correct default gate way as your router and a static dns. double check these setting from your router.

cheers !!

Hi,
you can try setting the MTU (maximum transmission unit) to 1500 and check
do the following
open cmd in administrator mode

then do the following

netsh interface ipv4 set subinterface "(Name of Your Interface) Ex. Local Area Connection" mtu=1500 store=persistent

you can get the name of your interface by running ipconfig /all

check this and reply back.

Cheers !!
