Sorry if this isn't a Windows 7 OS/Program issue, but this is kinda disturbing me,

So I was making my bed about 2 weeks ago, and I take my laptop and put it on my chair. When I was done with that I lightly toss my laptop onto my bed (like 2 inches above my bed), and when it lands I hear a loud CRACK. I pick up my laptop and look at it to see if its broken from somewhere, and I saw nothing wrong, so I continued using it. Later when I actually put it on my lap, the screen falls back, which it never ever does. I try putting it back to the way it was before and it didnt stay like it would. Kept falling back. I check both sides of the laptop and I see that one of the hinges was misplaced/broken, and the cover pieces next to the hinge were separated. I try putting them back together, but whenever I place the monitor back or move it back the cover pieces don't say together.

So uh, I can give pictures tomorrow if needed, but for now can anyone give me some solution to fix this?

Regards,
-Nide

Open and Administrative command prompt, type in "magic-powder-fixaroo" will instantly fix any physical problem with the hardware!

On a more serious note. You'll most likely need a replacement either the full screen assembly of just of the hing itself.

Depending on where the break is, fine wire or plain old thread and super glue might do the trick. Just be very careful or you could end up with the monitor frozen in one position until you break it again or replace it.

Why don't you just try supru sugru glue?! If it does the job, then good, otherwise you'll soon be spending I bet no matter whatever glue you put there!

Anyways. Next time, toss it higher! :)

Click start, type cmd, right click cmd and click "Run as fixaroo admin". Now enter this command:

You will need to carefully apply the glue so that it only joins the broken part. The problem is that the glue has good chances of restricting the movement because it's automatically pulled into unwanted places by capillary action, so be careful and apply in minute quantities.

you may want to add some glue to a small piece of card first or even a pin to apply it to the crack or where the break is to avoid too much glue seizing up the hinge and finding it glued shut

Frankly Supaglue is not going to be the go mate you need some of that two pack glue not the five minute stuff either the super strength stuff and like roboticarm says you need very litle and perhaps some little extra where it is not going to obviously restrict the top movement.

We have stuff called Araldite out that comes in syringes for tubes just mix in equal measures and leave the super strength stuff for at least 24 hours to attain full strength.

If there is some way of reinforcing it ll well and good but with out seeing it hard to tell you what to do.
http://www.selleys.com.au/trade/specialist-products/epoxy-adhesives-fillers/araldite-super-strength is what we get out here what you can get it in the US I don't know but there would be some similar material I am sure. Any decent hardware or builder merchants would hold such stuff.

JBWeld is a very good epoxy.

Yep mate that is the same two pack stuff I was quoting just different brands Araldite out here is the best and the longer setting version much stronger than the five minute stuff which is very good but for this job it really needs the longer set stuff:)

I might have mentioned it but when I use this stuff if possible I incorporate some reinforcing just as they do with concrete.
