Leased line speed.

Hello,
M having a 30MBPS leased line from our ISP.
when m copying a file from mapped network drive transfer rate is 11.7 MB per second.
does this mean m gettin 11MBPS? not 30MBPS?

how can i check my leased line speed?

Transfer rates can be affected by more than just the ISP line speed.

actually m trying to test is leased line speed, not internet speed.
the leased line is provided by our ISP from our main office to our another outlet.

We need to clarify something. Are you sure the leased line is 30 MBps and not 30 Mbps? Pay close attention, the upper and lower case of the "B" is very important here. An uppercase "B" represents Bytes. While a lowercase "b" represents bits. Also important: 11 MBps is about the max speed of 100 Mbps which is the most common Ethernet speed.

While it is possible, bet very doubtful that you have a 30 MBps leased line. That would be very very expensive. Far more likely that you have a 30 Mbps line.

logicearth yes m gettin MBps not Mbps. pretty much sure about that, and the leased line speed is 30MBpbs. thats what we are paying for, and here leased lines are not that expensive. if m gettin 11MBps means my connection speed is 30MBps right?

If you are getting 11 MBps then you are right at the max threshold of a standard ethernet connection (100 Mbps) to go any faster you will need to upgrade your network to a Gigabit Ethernet.
