Solved Library folder at startup

Evening.
I’ve noticed e over the last couple of weeks that my Library folder now decides to open when I switch on the pc.
My pc has a partition where that partition runs 64 bit software but my main use is the 32 bit side of things.

Anyway today I logged into the 64 bit & all fine.
32 bit side always open the start up folder.

In this a know issue as I can’t find a reason why this is happening.

Any advice please.

I don't if I can help but, does the folder appear as soon as you start the computer or after Windows has booted.

Hi,
I start the pc.
I now see two options for login purposes.
My name & administator.
I select my name.

This is when I then see the library folder open/shown on the screen.
I click the Red Cross too right & there is my desktop like it used to be.

C:\Windows\system32\userinit.exe

is it shown as that or is it shown as\userinit.exeuserinit.exe. If the latter, rename it to remove the extra userinit.exe.

Having checked for you i see it as,
userinit.exe

After you boot in, run msconfig. Click on Disable All in the Startup tab. Apply the change. Reboot. Does the problem still occur?

Hi,
I dissabled all of them but 1 came backed ticked.
I rebooted anyway but it still loaded the library,it did seem to be fine in respect of me being able to see the desktop but them it appeared so it loaded at a different time etc ?

Once started i looked in the msconfig again and this one was ticked.

How can i untick it to be sure this might be the cause

I suggest the following: install CCleaner, remove junk files, fix registry issues, and then in the Tools section find the Startup tab and look through all start-up items. Disable everything that shouldn't run at start-up.

Its a clock that i use to replace the small windows clock.
Its called Atomic Alarm Clock.

I remove all the ticks.
Close the box down
Open it up again & the tick is back

Doesn't sound like something that would load the Library but you might try uninstalling it.

You can run msconfig and in the Services tab, select "hide all Microsoft" and then, check the box to disable all. Reboot
Do you still get the library?

Hi,
That didnt stop it either & still it loaded.
Im just running ccleaner

Cleaner removed a lot of junk.
Restarted but still the same.

Deleted the clock as mentioned above.
Restarted but still the same.

I’ve even removed the tick under start up tab & services using msconfig each time.

Still this Library loads.

Just to make sure I understand, by "Library" you mean a Windows Explorer window showing one of the Library folders, right? (I mean the file explorer, not the Internet Explorer).

Go to Start, All Programs, Accessories. Right click on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator.

type in- SFC /Scannow

Let it run. Does it find any problems. If so, reboot and run it again. Does it still find problems?

Ive run the Scannow as advised & the end message said problems were found but couldnt be fixed.

What antivirus you have?

I didn't see anything in the log which would be related to your problem.

Next to the notification area in the system tray, is the Libraries shortcut icon there?

I have been using the clock for say 4 years no problem but now i deleted it.
I use AVG internet security
