Hi,
I have a problem in Windows 7 Home x64, IE11 :
In the taskbar when I right click on internet explorer and click on start InPrivate browsing, windows explorer is opened instead of internet explorer. Do you have a solution to repair this? Note that I don't want to create a new link/shortcut for in private browsing, I just want to have this working as it is on a fresh install.

Thank you.

As the icon changed to the Windows Explorer folder? Just check the properties of the short-cut and change it to iexplore.exe.

I pin my Windows Explorer short-cut to the Taskbar because I use it all the time but I change its properties so it shows what I want to see the main drive.

%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /n,/e,C:\

Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
If you have problems doing the above right click the taskbar shortcut then right click the Internet explorer listing and click on Properties,
Then you'll get to the properties where it should say,
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe"

Personally I would Unpin that taskbar shortcut and replace it possibly it will straighten out any issues ?
Click Start and type in the search box,
iexplore.exe or simply internet explorer and hit the enter key,
Test if the issue remains,
If so fill in your system spec's page and add which security suite you have installed and any recent changes you made or files you've downloaded,
System restore to an earlier time might be worth looking at if this is a recent issue :/
Cheers.

Unfortunately if I right click on "internet explorer" in the taskbar, then right click on "start inprivate browsing" then it's only written "Open" in the menu(properties is not listed). There's nothing else where I can enter iexplore.exe.

I tried to unpin and pin again without success. My Windows installation is new but from an Acer backup. It was a pre installed windows with the laptop. I only added the Windows update.
When I type "iexplore.exe" and hit enter, internet explorer is opened, no problem but it's not inprivate.
The link internet explorer in the taskbar works perfectly it's only a problem with the inprivate link.
