Locked Win 7 & Surprised to see that it's been restarted after login

This has happened about 3 times now if not more than that.

The Issue is:

I just locked the system using win+L. When I came back, the screen is alright waiting for me to enter password. After entering the password, it should resume from where I left last, right? But surprisingly, I see all the open apps are closed and windows behaving as if it's been restarted.

Note: Whenever this has happened, I gone out immediately after locking, so do not know what happened after that. Hope this is not some devil's work :(

Help me, please

Welcome to Seven Forums karthickk3. Are you the only user on this PC? If so, you can see the last login time

Start> In search box type cmd> Right click on cmd.exe in results above and choose Run as administrator> When command prompt loads type Net User (Your user name) IE: Net User karthickk3> Enter> Scroll down to last login

Hi, thanks for that. I tried that and found last login time. But now, how can I use that information? Is it to find if the system has restarted last? or it will take lock and unlock too as a last login factor?

You suspected it was restarted after you left it. You want to confirm it was logged in after the time you locked it, correct? Hmmm, you have to login to get that info...sorry, I wasn't thinking.

OK, through Event Viewer

Start> In search box type event viewer> Enter> Windows Logs> Security> You will see listings with a Task Category of Logon, Special Logon, Logoff , etc.

Note the time you lock the PC, and if you find it looks like it was restarted when you come back, look at the logs and see if the event viewer confirms that.
