Lost disk 2 and partition D when installing window 7

hi here is a shoot of my disk management as described in this post

please note that disk f is an external hard disk,

so the problem is that disk D is not there anymore as when i did clean i might chossed the wrong one but before i wrote down the disks capacity and the disk i choosed to clean matched the disk c capacity,now i installed /formatted the c again,

so is there anywhere to bring back this drive?

After selecting the correct disk just sit and wait for the wizard to complete.
You might get lucky

And yes you had a system reserved partition it shows as 101mb unallocated space now.

i hace disc c which is my c drive and the other one is disk d but what next as i dint see it in my computer

It looks like windows got installed on the correct disk as where the previous install was on
You'd want to select disk 1 and recovery wizard on it and cross your fingers.

From your last screen shot you have disk 1 which is where you say D partition was
Just click on partition recovery wizard listing to the left of it.

This is why you always disconnect the power cable from any other drives before attempting to install Windows.

Shankly that is why I suggested accessing another machine running Windows because obviously a drive on which Windows is running cannot clean itself using DISKPART and that process would be done via the other machine that is running Windows and as per Thrash Zones post #9 - you can right click on that partition and then click Explore it will let you know what those files are.

I presume that the OP was trying to clean his boot drive running diskpartclean from the Windows 7 Installation Disk. By mistake he performed the diskpartclean on the second internal data drive.

( The OP seems to have completed the Windows 7 installation - though I would say it is far from perfect since the previous system reserved partition is still there as unallocated.He perhaps did not delete all the partitions before installing Windows 7. Perhaps ThrashZone/AddRAM/ICIT2 can guide him to do a perfect clean install after he recovers his second drive.And yes , before doing a Windows install it is always prudent to disconnect all other drives. Otherwise as many as three persons here have to crack their heads and crank Sevenforum servers )

His problem now is how to get his second internal drive on which he has wrongly run diskpart clean back on track.

The current situation is though he ran Partition Recovery Wizard on Disk 2, he does not know how to complete it.

As I see from his screenshot, Partition Recovery Wizard has seen three partitions, he has selected all three and clicked on Finish on the Partition Recovery Wizard window. The operation is still pending. He has to complete it by clicking on APPLY in the Partition Wizard main menu bar on top. That will write the partition tables and complete the Partition Recovery. Then he has to right click on the main data partition of his Disk 2 in Partition Wizard and assign a drive letter to it. And that is it.

( At this point I have to say that it seems he had formatted his 1TB data drive as GPT and then had converted it to MBR. That would explain the 129 MB and 8MB partitions before and after the main partition. Not an issue but I am just wondering why he initialised it as a GPT drive in the first instance and later converted it into MBR)

Once again, this is where a Partition Wizard Boot CD comes in very handy, even if you still have other drives hooked up, Partition Wizard will only do what you you tell it to.
