Loud fan noise since installing windows 7

Hi, i recentley bought a sony vaio cs31 last september and since installing windows 7 (cant remeber making the noise befor it) it has been making an extremely annoying noise from the fan every 30 seconds.
Anyone know if this is a common thing with installing windows 7 and if theres a way to fix it?

Hi Diddle, welcome to the forums
Did you have any fan control software before, that got erased when you installed Win7?
Have you changed any BIOS settings for the install? Sometimes the CPU or board fan have BIOS settings to control them
Also, Windows 7 reportedly runs the CPU a little hotter then the predecessors, that might be it.
