Hey,
Well I'm a new gamer of PC game and it's really fun to play, but recently my mum got a new computer with Windows 7 on it, and since then my FPS has been effecting my gaming. I play CrossFire(CF) only, and it's hard playing in big games like 8v8, 7v7's. I get around 17-23 FPS in both of them which is bad. Sometimes I don't get to even see the muzzle flare come of the guns. Ohh and it make me play horrible.
  • Windows 7 Ultimate
  • CPU: 3.00GHz
  • RAM: 1GB(Soon getting 2GB more GB)
  • System Type: Operating System
I'm not much of a computer guy. I've just installed everything up-to date on my drivers, and not much change. Also I've been told Windows 7 isn't the best for gaming as it requires, and takes most of your CPU. My friend told me about a video card? He said (CF) only require 126MB and I'm using 256MB, but I don't know how to change that. Help would be much appreciated.

hi Rasheed Saeed, and welcome to sevenforums,

the most important part of your computer when it comes to gaming and fps is the graphics card.

do you know what yours is?

ok that may be your problem - the intel graphics chip is not very powerful for playing games - it's fine for internet, watching movies etc, but not for 3D games.

i do not know the crossfire game - does it have a settings or options page?

you may need to make the settings or screen resolution lower to boost your fps.

if you have some spare money, maybe you could buy a more powerful graphics card, if your computer can take it.

is it a laptop or a desktop computer? if it's a laptop, it's nearly impossible to improve the graphics hardware.

ok try reducing some settings - that should help (apart from the gamma- that's very much like brightness, and shouldn't affect performance at all.)

tick the boxes that say 'low' or 'no' - then save.

i'm sure it will help - i hope it's enough.

if not, it looks like you're going to have to spend some money on a more powerful graphics card.

i'm sorry, but it's 2:48 am where i live (england), and it's time for me to go to bed. :sleepy:

if you have any more questions, i'm sure somebody else will be able to help.

good luck and i hope you enjoy your game.

good night too!

I would consider upgrading your whole system as it is very outdated hardware wise. P4 3gHz with 1gb ram and integrated graphics isn't going to cut it anymore. Windows 7 would run significantly better with updated hardware. For about €300 you could get a pretty neat system that runs most recent games with ease.
