Solved M/S Defender and your Antivirus.

Just need a little advice. Can or should I run Defender active at the same time as my active antivirus.

MSE turns off Defender when it installs and runs anyway, so that doesn't matter much.

Any other anti-virus can coexist with Defender with no problems.

Some anti virus also check for malware, if so Defender is not needed. One, for example, is Mcafee.

To be honest, I dont think Windows Defender is of any use. I have ran it on infected PCs and 4 out of 5 times, it has detected nothing.
On the other hand, MSE is a strong contender, more powerful than Windows Defender.

So, no matter what AV you're using, you can "safely" turn off Windows Defender.

Hi Corrine, I know Windows Defender is only an anti-spyware but it detects merely nothing infront of other anti spywares like MBAM or SAS.

I agree, Dinesh. That is because MBAM and SAS are anti-malware applications. Spyware on a computer does not have the damaging effects that trojans have.

I will be happy to. My antivirus is Webroot with Spy Sweeper and my firewall is built in Windows 7. Thanks for all your replies. I have Defender turn off at this time because I don't know enough about it.

I agree, Dinesh. That is because MBAM and SAS are anti-malware applications. Spyware on a computer does not have the damaging effects that trojans have.
