Medieval 2 Total War Kingdoms wrapper too old error

It says 'The wrapper version of SecuROM is too old, it can not be used with this version of the API. Please protect the application with the latest version of SecuROM!'

I've updated Kingdoms to the latest update and tried reinstalling and uninstalling but nothing happens. It's only Medieval 2 Total War Kingdoms and not the original Medieval 2 Total War.
I've also installed the SecuROM diagnositcs tool but that fails every time I try it so now I've run out of ideas except that I think the data on the disk may be screwed even though theres no scratches on the disk. Any help would be appreciative.

Tried running all the programs under admin rights?

Many times and changed compatibility but still no luck.
